Women against the tide - The light of the Gods

Theatre, music and dance will accompany spectators in a journey through the female universe at the Centrale Montemartini. The play will focus on a dilemma that can only be resolved by the Gods, under the direction of Massimiliano Zeuli.
It is an unpublished show written by Enrico Antognelli. Through drama, music and dance the playwriter wants to pay tribute to the Women who, in the corse of time, are and were “hosted” at the Centrale Montemartini of Rome. Through this journey inside the energy plant, which today has been converted into a Museum, we will discover the secrets of queen Cleopatra, Agrippina and even Dionisio. The busts of these famous and strong personalities are kept today at the Centrale and decorate its different halls. The characters are called by a supreme judge to decide whether to accept a gift that the Gods have offered to humankind: the gift of light.
This unique performance will accompany spectators through a journey that starts very far back (from Greek and Roman mythological characters) right up to the beginning of the last century with the story of a factory woman. The show is enhanced by the natural industrial and majestic setting of the Museum’s halls. The Engine Room will be transformed into a great Arena that will host live music, theatrical and dance performances. It is a show that talks about historical women who have definintely gone against the tide.
